Our purpose:  To see the men of Steamboat Rock Baptist Church become a fellowship of brothers who sharpen one another into the tools God has created us to be.

Key verse:  Proverbs 27:17

     "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

Characteristics of the Men's ministry.

                      As stated in our key verse and purpose, our men's ministry would like to share the same characteristics of iron and sharpen one another.

       1.  Iron is silvery-white, lustrous, magnetic

We want to sparkle, shine, and be magnetic to draw ourselves and other men into a saving and/or growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

         2.  Iron is malleable, ductile

We also desire to use scripture, prayer and accountability with each other in a way that is allowing God to mold us into the men he created us to be.

        3.  Iron occurs abundantly in combined forms

Coming from diversified backgrounds, we want to be willing to use all of our gifts and talents to serve each other, our families, our church, our communities, and ultimately the Lord.

         4. Iron is a crucial element in a wide range of important structural materials

Ultimately the men's ministry one avenue for men to become a crucial elements is the building and harvesting of God's church.

Iron does not sharpen itself.  We need each other.
