Monique's Bio
I was born and raised on a dairy farm near Kerkhoven, Minnesota. From as long as I can remember, my mom made sure we attended Sunday School and church weekly, so God and the Bible have always been familiar to me. My first job during my high school years was as a secretary at a fertilizer plant. My boss there was very instrumental in my spiritual growth and as a result I made a decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus, to accept Him as my Lord and Savior. After attending the community college for a year, I had the privilege to attend a Bible college which my boss and his wife paid for my year. What a blessing during my early time as a christian to be surrounded by that atmosphere and grow spiritually. My intention after high school was to attend college to get a four year degree as a medical technologist, but after the year in Bible college I decided to pursue a 2 year degree as a medical technician. God blessed me as I was able to do my internship for that program at the local hospital near my home town and lived with my grandmother during that time. Following my internship I was hired on at that local hospital the spring of ’92 and worked there for 15 ½ years. I met Scott the fall of ’92 and we were married the summer of ’94. We have been blessed with three children: Victoria, Micah, and Josiah.
In 2004 Scott’s job changed and we knew we would be moving to this area as soon as the kids finished school the spring of 2005. We started to visit local churches and needless to say we ended up attending and becoming members of SRBC. We couldn’t ask for a more wonderful church body to fellowship with and to study God’s Word. Although the move was difficult for me, I have come to love this area and I wouldn’t want to move again.
