15 Reasons to Bring Your Child to Sunday School (aka Pathway Class)

I really could expand long and hard on this topic, but I’ll keep it short with 15 reasons you and your child should come to our Sunday Pathway Classes at 9:30 each Sunday morning. (Yes, we have classes for adults, teens, and children). I truly believe that this 45 minutes of Bible teaching each week is one of the most important hours of our church week. We have three dedicated teachers, for children ages three to fifth grade, who are trained, prepared, and ready to teach each week. Our classes delve into the Bible—but that dive is fun, memorable, and life-changing! We’re looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!

1. Age Targeted Teaching: Your kids can get Biblical instruction that's focused on their developmental abilities.

2. Friends: In Sunday School, your child will build positive friendships with their peers by discovering God's Word together.

3. It's Fun: Sunday School is not Disneyland, but our teachers do work hard to teach the Bible in ways that are relevant and fun for kids.

4. Spiritual Mentors: A dedicated teacher can be a Christian role model who supports you in your role as parent/teacher and helps inspire the faith of your child.

5. Systematic Bible Learning: Our curriculum is designed to give a broad foundation, so children will understand how all the parts of Scripture point to Christ.

6. Praying Teachers: Our teachers consistently pray for your child's faith to grow. Coming to Sunday School gives another occasion for God to answer those requests.

7. Big Reward for a Small Investment: If you're already coming to church, just come a little earlier. That one change will equal over 800 hours of additional Christian teaching before your child graduates. That is invaluable!

8. Send the Right Message: Making Sunday School a priority shows your kids that God's Word really does matter more than pillow-time.

9. Adult Bible Fellowship: While the children enjoy their class, you can fellowship with other adults in your own Bible study group.

10. You'll Be on Time: Families who come to Sunday School always get to worship on time. It's the easiest way to avoid being late.

11. Reinforcement: It reinforces lessons learned at home in a Biblically sound way.

12. Learn the Bible Stories: Within the years of Sunday School attendance, all major Bible stories will be taught--usually in a systematic way.

13. Provides many opportunities to serve: Think of the many avenues of service that are fulfilled when you come to Sunday School--greeters, teachers, substitutes, refreshment coordinator, nursery workers, etc.

14. Evangelism and Discipleship: It is a fun, safe environment for your child to bring some friends along for a chance to hear the Gospel and to grow in understanding of God’s Word and a knowledge of how to apply it to their lives.

15. Fosters a Love for Learning: Children who grow up in Sunday School usually tend to be the ones who continue to learn about God, His Word, and His Church into middle school, high school and beyond.
