Gratitude…

I want to break this newsletter into two different segments: one for every volunteer that works with our children in our Kids Ministry Department (Sunday Pathway Class, Children’s Church, Awana, VBS, Nursery,  etc) and one to our parents.

So first, a Thanksgiving/Christmas Song for all Kid-Min Volunteers at Steamboat Rock Baptist Church…

The 12 Days of Thank-You’s (for all Kid-Min Volunteers)

On the first day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
A big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the second day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Two helping  hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the third day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the fourth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the fifth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the sixth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the seventh day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the eighth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Eight smiles growing,
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the ninth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Nine crafts a-gluing,
Eight smiles growing,
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the tenth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Ten kiddos laughing,
Nine crafts a-gluing,
Eight smiles growing,
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!

Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the eleventh day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Eleven Bibles open,
Ten kiddos laughing,
Nine crafts a-gluing,
Eight smiles growing,
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

On the twelfth day of thank-you’s, our church said to you:
Twelve blessings flowing,
Eleven Bibles open,
Ten kiddos laughing,
Nine crafts a-gluing,
Eight smiles growing,
Seven kids a-singing,
Six prayers uplifting,
Five shining hearts!
Four lessons shared,
Three joyful cheers,
Two guiding hands,
And a big “We’re grateful for all that you do!”

We couldn’t do what we do without you! Thank you for your patience, your commitment, and your love for Jesus first, and then the children!!

Part 2: For Parents

The Advent Season is upon us—that period of time before Christmas where as individuals, families, church body, or any other group can prepare their heart for Christmas. Parents, this is a special time of year where you can breathe into your child a sense of hope, peace, joy, and love that only Jesus can fully bring into our lives.

The Child Discipleship Forum is the organization in which you would find the Awana program that we use every Wednesday night during the school year. They have an awesome resource for every parent/family group out there who want to instill in their children the great awesomeness of the Christmas Season. It is a free, Gospel-centered resource that helps you keep Jesus at the center of the season. It is a ready-to-print or direct download devotional for each week of the Advent season with tons of activities that your kids will love.
