Final Thoughts from Us to You
John writes to Gaius in 3rd John v4:
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
I think of this verse as I think of you. It doesn’t mean that you, as a church, are perfect. No church is, but it has been such a joy for Karol and me to serve a church that resonates with the truth of God’s Word and desires to apply it to your lives.
Please, know that you will be in our prayers, especially in the year to come as you transition to a new lead pastor for the first time in over twenty years. I encourage you to love him, to be patient with him, to encourage him, and to be transparent with him [and his family]. (By now you know me well enough to know that I could have given you several scripture references for those encouragements, but I’m leaving it for you to search those out for yourselves. Ha!)
We are so thankful to God for placing us here to get to know you and serve you for His glory these past 15+ months. What a blessing it has been. Whenever we think of you, we will thank God for you. Paul says it perfectly for us in Philippians 1:3-5:
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all, making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership
in the gospel from the first day until now.”
Thank you, Steamboat Rock Baptist Church,
and may God bless you for another 150 years!
